The religious scriptures hold that only the best of things should be offered to the deities, and it does not make flower any exception. Flowers has an important role in Hindu Puja . A ritual is not complete without offering flowers to gods. Phool Bangla is one such celebration of nature.

Reference to flowers in Mahabharata:

The son of Virochanna (a daitya king), Vali, asks his guru Sukracharya about the special merits of flower offering to the god and godesses.

The guru replies:

“ Flowers gladden the mind and confer prosperity. Hence, Men of righteous deeds bestowed the name Sumana on them.”

That man who is in a state of purity offers flowers to the deities find that the deities become gratified with him, and as the consequence of such gratification bestow prosperity upon him.

Hanuman ji is an Hindu God and divine vanara companion of Lord Rama. Hanuman ji is one of the central characters of Hindu epic Ramayana. He is an ardent devotee of Rama and one of the cheeranjeevis.

Lord Hanuman as an incarnation of Shiv:

Shiva decided to born as a Hanuman, the son of Vayu. Who was born on earth as a vanara due to curse of Durvasa rishi. Like Rama who was unaware he was an avtar of Vishnu, Hanuman had no idea he was an avtar of Lord shiva. It is also mentioned in Satarudriya Samhita of Shiva purana.Brahma wanted one of the Gods to assist Vishu(Ram) on his quest. As Ravan was great devotee of Lord Shiv, it was impossible to defeat him hence the Hanuman avtar of Shiv was born.

Tuesdays and Saturdays of every week are particularly popular days at Hanuman temples. Lord Hanuman is mentioned in the puranas. Lord Hanuman in the colonial and post colonial era has been a cultural icon, as a symbolic ideal combination of Shakti and Bhakti, as a rightof Hindu people to express and pursue their forms of spirituality and religious belief.
